My friend Lana wrote these short, curly lines in a book.
             Very pretty, I think.  They don't 'pulse' per se, but
             I think of them as 'pulsing,' nevertheless.  Oh,
             and after we scanned them in, they needed to be
             retouched a bit.  But Lana is not the first woman 
             to have her curves retouched.
